Issue #4 - Mysterious beauty of NOTHING
Recharging batteries, preparing for the next week, being a sloth
Hello all,
Welcome back to the Thought Box! Hope that you had a great weekend.
This week, I am sending this issue to 29 people! 1 more to 30. Sounds super amazing to me. I mean, I wasn’t expecting this much of a grow in this short amount of time. All the things are happening thanks to you all! This makes me super happy that more and more people are here to hear my thoughts and joining the journey. 🙏
Let’s start, shall we?
⬆️ Start up your upcoming week, from Sunday!
As you know, every weekend I sat down and recap the week. Then I start writing the newsletter. About this week, it was a calmer week, compared to other ones. Previously, I would be pretty upset if I can’t organize things and stay in home. But this week, it was helpful to recharge, organize my thoughts and plan ahead.
Since I started this newsletter, I noticed that I am much more prepared for the upcoming week. Let’s see:
Recap the previous week
Write a newsletter
Get some lessons
Plan the upcoming week
Clear/fill your TODO list
You should also join me on this one. Grab your favorite bevarage of choice (preferably coffee) then sit down. Then do these things for your life in numeric order.
You will put a big-fat-✔ on this week
You will be couple steps ahead already on Monday.
You will properly finish your tasks without forgetting.
You will start your next week with a win, already!
➡️ Looking forward to hear more from you!
So, let me be clear on this: I LOVE TO HEAR BACK FROM YOU! ❤️
Your feedback is super important and valueable that I can’t stress it enough. At the end of the day, I am trying to do something which - hopefully - provides some form of value in your day. This form of value can be entertainment, information, etc. But the important part is, this newsletter is for you. So if I can hear from you more, I can address the issues and make it better for you.
I have two things to address. Let me go over them very quickly:
“Oh, did you publish something for this week? I didn’t see anything.”
Unfortunately, my emails are going into Spam folder. So that’s why, you might not see it in your inbox. Please double-check your Spam folder and mark the email as “Not Spam” so you will be sure that you are going to receive the emails. But never forget, you can always see all the issues here as well!As you know, the “Thought Box” has a concept: Drawing a imaginary box with thoughts. But the new joiners - most probably - are not knowing this concept. Because I only explained in the first issue and since then maybe 20 new people joined here. So from now on, you can reach out to the page for explaination here and also you can see it on homepage, under “Concept”.
These were the two feedbacks that I heard you and wanted to fix them as soon as possible.
I am looking forward to hearing more from you guys!
⬇️ Narrowing down the focus
Just like JT said, “I got that tunnel vision - for you.”
So sometimes it is crucial to have a tunnel vision on the high priority tasks. Normally, tunnel vision is not something I like at all. I like the widest angle to think about different perspectives. Even in photography, I like my ultrawide angle lens, more that the ultra telephoto lens.
But they can live with harmony. They can coexist. Let’s actually continue from the photography to explain this:
First, you have to see the bigger picture, you need to see as much as detail you can. It shows you the bigger picture. Overall architecture, texture of the city, some color scheme, etc. You will have a primary understanding of the city. You can start noticing some pretty places, it won’t be visible or not worth it from that angle. Mark that points, don’t lost them. Note that down right away.
But in order to find the hidden gems, the “invisible” stuff, the exciting stuff, you need to change your lens and narrow down your focus, tunnel vision.
You need to tackle that task alone.
Just focus on that single task.
Only one priority at a time.
Then you will have the remarkable results that you are looking for. Without giving the proper attention, we can’t also expect remarkable results.
Take a bigger picture of your mental environment, note down the important things, priortize, narrow down your focus from highest priority to lowest. Tackle them one by one.
⬅️ Throwback time: Top quote from last week
This one is from Ali Abdaal’s Twitter. This one specifically caught my attention. It was literally a sign for me that I am not alone in this phase. Everybody has their ups and downs, but also, everybody needs their time off. But the important thing here is doing nothing: Eat-Sleep-Nothing-Repeat.
There is some mysterious beauty behind this “nothing”.
Don’t scared to be in this position, just enjoy it. Just give a break when needed. If you are giving a break, own it. Be a sloth!
Well, here we are. We just completed this week’s Thought Box. Thank you so much for joining me in this issue.
